FRESH AND LOCAL

Where possible all our produce is sourced from local suppliers. Our fish is supplied by Downies of Whitehills, less than 200 metres from our premises. At certain times various fish is delivered from our own trawler Audacious direct to Downies Fish who process the fish ready for serving.  Our meat products are supplied by John Stewart Butchers who are located in Banff.


OPENING HOURS

We are open from daily, please note that during the winter months we do work restricted hours, please check our opening times before your visit. Due to the popularity of our restaurant advanced booking is advised. Last sittings for the restaurant are 30 minutes before closing.

Our belief here at Rockfish is to, where possible, source our produce locally, supporting the local business community is vital in order to sustain the very best produce supply thus giving continued value and high quality to our customer base.


OUR FISH - FRESH & SCOTTISH

All our fish are caught in Scottish waters by Scottish Fishermen. We ensure that our fish are caught from fully sustainable stocks according to the Marine Conservation Society. Where possible we aim to use fish caught by our family trawler, Audacious.


We work closely with Downies of Whitehills who supply and process our fish, in addition Downies also supply Rockfish with their famous Scampi and a selection of fish and shellfish which quite often appears on our weekly specials menu.


With more than a 100 year tradition of quality fresh fish; Downies select only the best of catch at local fish markets.


To ensure that only quality fresh Scottish fish is available to customers, Alan Downie, Managing Partner with more than 30  years experience in the business, personally visits the local fish markets to select fresh fish for processing.


The company operates from a modern EU approved factory with a purpose built cold store ensuring total control over quality. Visitors to the area can take advantage of visiting their factory shop where an extensive range of fresh seafood is always available.



OUR MEAT - SCOTTISH MEAT AT IT’S FINEST

Our main fresh meat supplier is John Stewart Butchers, located on the High Street in Banff.  John Stewart has been in the meat trade for over 40 years, having been brought up in the business by his father began in 1946.


Today’s shop on the High Street in Banff offers award-winning meat products from a skilled butcher, using meat sourced as locally as possible.  The fantastic range of meat and associated products is used as part of our standard menu and weekly specials.


Visitors to the area can take advantage of visiting John Stewart Butchers at 63 High Street, Banff.
